situated at the water's edge with great views of the islands and
Frenchman's Bay. Within walking distance of town and easy access to
Acadia National Park, all the trails and Bar Island at low
tide, this is a wonderful vacation "cottage". Its location and
size makes it a perfect place for that family reunion.
LAYOUT: FIRST
LEVEL: Newly remodeled
kitchen (in 2010/2011) with eat-at island, hardwood floors, Maine
granite counters, modern appliances, large pantry and farm table with
seating for 8-10. French doors from the kitchen lead to an
open air dining deck overlooking Frenchman's Bay. Main floor master
suite (aka "Cook's Quarters") has a king size bed and a full bath with
original pedestal tub and separate step-in shower with hand rails. The kitchen, master bedroom, bath and
laundry/mud room all have central air. Formal dining room with
seating for 10 has glass doors leading to the "Oak Room" with wood
panels and the only working fireplace. The "Oak Room" has a door
opening to a small deck overlooking the water. Formal living room with
fireplace (sorry, can't be used) and door to covered porch at the
water's edge. Powder room off front entry.
SECOND LEVEL:
Great landing; "Chapel" bedroom with 2 full size beds, 3/4 bath in
hall; "Morgan" bedroom with 2 twin beds, 3/4 bath, fireplace (not
usable) and access to a small balcony; upstairs master suite with king
bed, full bath, fireplace (not usable) and access to a private balcony
(newly restored); "Dorr" bedroom with king bed, private covered balcony
and fireplace (not usable); "Whitney" bedroom with four poster king
bed, fireplace (not usable) and full bath with claw foot tub and
separate shower across hall; "Blue Room" small bedroom with single bed and fireplace (not usable).
